The University of Utah Disclaimer

The Child and Family Development Center is an NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited preschool which consists of several laboratories that provide learning opportunities for children, students, and parents, alike. The center also provides research facilities and opportunities for University faculty and graduate students. Thus the Center's three main objectives are:

  1. to provide an enriched learning environment for young children,
  2. to facilitate parent, student and teacher education, and
  3. to provide research opportunities for University faculty interested in studying young children and families.
Families First

The center emphasizes the creative ability of all children. The objective of the program is to explore the areas of each child’s potential talent. This goal is achieved by providing children with creative thinking experiences and activities focused on areas of creative talent. Areas such as language, music/rhythm, logic, body coordination, art, and personal leadership are focused on throughout the year
